Serie A Predictions

The beginning of the Serie A season is here! It's time to get back into the spirit of the season and what better way to do that than to try to predict the top 4 teams at the end of 25/26 the season. Serie A has a reputation of being unpredictable but I'm setting out to do just that. Why top 4? Because Italy only has 4 spots for the UEFA Champions League competition in which top teams from all over Europe get to compete for the top spot and be crowned champions of Europe. I will only be predicting final positions and not points or goal differentials because that would be near impossible.

Now for my justifications: I will start from the bottom and work my way up. In 4th place I have Inter Milan. Inter won the Scudetto (first place trophy) in 23/24 and were very close in the 24/25 season. So why do I have them so low compared to previous seasons? Let's look at their Summer transfer window. Selling their coach Simone Inzaghi to Al Hilal in Saudi Arabia was a potentially questionable move. Inzaghi led Inter to many victories and they sold him seemingly out of nowhere. The coach they put in his place was Cristian Chivu. Chivu is experienced with Serie A as he coached Parma for several years and led them out of Serie B, but he has never coached a team in the UCL. Inter being in the UCL this year is a concern as the team will have less rest time in between games and be playing a lot more against very high level teams. I don't think Inter will have the ability to catch up to their previous glory this season having to deal with teams like Barcelona and Real Madrid in the UCL this season... Show More
